A place where the creativity of artists from all over the world comes together. Paper Collective (poster brand) from Copenhagen. This week's designer is [Karolina Székely].

Carolina's career began in psychology, a field that explores the "inner workings of the human mind." However, an irresistible urge to express herself led her down the path of graphic design and then to becoming an artist.

The "organic forms" and "calming balance" found in her work may reflect a deep interest in the inner world and psychology of humanity.

The most distinctive feature of her work lies in its mixed media approach, skillfully combining traditional techniques with a modern approach, and skillfully blending "analog" and "digital" elements.

  • A variety of techniques: from vibrant watercolors to cutouts (paper cuttings) with hand-drawn parts.

  • Hybrid Production: Combining the warmth of analog handcraft with the compositional power of digital tools, we elevate our work into contemporary and abstract collage pieces.

By combining hand-drawn elements with digital reconstruction, the artwork creates a graphical and tactile experience that is both contemporary and evokes the texture and three-dimensionality of printed posters.

Looking at her artwork, I feel my mind calm down.

The nuanced color schemes, centered on earth tones and warm tones, and the minimalist approach that strips away all unnecessary elements, yet the non-mechanical "small distortions" and "imperfections" give the works a gentle breath.

This style surprisingly matches the Japanese aesthetic of "wabi-sabi" and the currently popular interior design style "Japandi."

Carolina 's art not only adorns a space, but also offers us a "moment of tranquility" within ourselves.

"By layering bold, simple forms and using deep, rich colors, I aim for a composition where strength and sophistication coexist. This is also my own pursuit of 'balance' in my creative process." - Karolina Székely
